2007 Pinot Noir Natasha Block

About This Product

Tasting Notes:
The 2007 Natasha Block continues to be a fruit forward wine with robust flavors of raspberry, cherry, cranberry, and root beer. Aromatics suggest black cherry cola, cinnamon, and caramel. Then the white pepper kicks in with accents of tobacco and leather to express the earthy components that are more apparent in the 2007 providing complexion and depth across the palate. The tannins are firm and well structured with a silky finish.

Vineyard Notes:
2007 was a very good year for Pinot noir growing on Youngberg Hill Vineyards. The weather proved to be cooler and wetter than in the past, and more characteristic of cool climate growing conditions Oregon is known for. The fruit was maturing on target with flavors coming in early and sugars moving up as expected through August and early September. Those of us who waited out the rain and harvested after October 9th were rewarded with wonderful, well balanced fruit. For us, it means a less alcoholic wine with rich flavors, and deep color, with more elegance and finesse than in recent vintages. The spices and earthy undertones will still be there, but more subtle. This will definitely be a vintage that will accentuate the cool climate qualities of Oregon Pinot noir.

Winemaker Notes:
The vintage is still developing in the bottle and will be at its best from 2011 to 2022.
