About This Product
Tasting Notes:
Named in honor of our owners' granddaughters—Remi and Mari—our Dolcetto comes from a 1.6 acre site that we like to refer to as an experiment gone right! Native to the Piedmont region in Northern Italy , the Dolcetto grape exhibits big grapey, sassy flavors! Its considerable “slurpy factor” makes it a wonderful cocktail wine, while its natural acidity gives it the power to pair exceptionally well with all kinds of cuisine.
March 2012 update: – With two-plus years of bottle age, the 2009 Dolcetto still exhibits grapey, dark fruit-driven qualities, yet has taken on further nuance. Aromatically as well as on the palate, the wine is showing added spice notes of cinnamon, nutmeg and brown sugar. Medium bodied in mouth feel, it has continued to flesh-out and broaden with bottle age and with air upon opening. The finish is pure and silky with a lingering aftertaste of more dark fruit and baking spice. A true quaffer on its own, it also pairs spectacularly with everyday fare such as burgers, red-sauced pasta dishes and pizzas. It will be drinking in its prime over the next two years.
