The Merriman Vineyard was planted on an east facing slope in 1999...
It is dry farmed, and slopes downward from an elevation of 510 ft. All Pinot Noir, it is planted mostly to Dijon clones. At the top of the slope, Pommard and Wadenswil are planted. These last two clones make up the majority of the top Merriman bottling, and only yield about one ton per acre. It is farmed using sustainable methods only, and was LIVE Certified in 2008.I met Erik Brasher when he was the head winemaker at Owen Roe. Erik is a trained oenologist, as well as a viticulturalist. When Erik left Owen roe, I soon followed, and the decision was made to make wine together from the Merriman Vineyard, as well as making the Old Vine Chenin blanc from Yakima.
We hope you enjoy our wines as much as we've enjoyed making them. If you have any questions about our wines or our approach to winemaking feel free to contact us.
Cheers-
Mike
