Memaloose Wines bring you the bright flavors of the Columbia Gorge AVA.

America's most unique wine appellation. Our story is about a place, a family, and the love of good food. Grown and produced in a National Scenic Area by the McCormick Family, these wines are crafted to compliment food. Estate vineyard sites lie on both the Washington and Oregon slopes of the Columbia River, at various elevations and in distinct micro-climates spread throughout this exciting, young AVA.

Our spectacular winery and tasting room setting overlooks the AVA from high above the Columbia River near Lyle, Washington. The grape variety and the particular season of harvest is reflected in each glass. We seek intensity without the excessive alcohol of over-ripe fruit, and we downplay the influence of our oak barrels. Above all we bottle wines that will complement food, as they showcase the diverse potential of this spectacular region. We aim to capture the essence of the stunning Columbia Gorge.

The Place

Shaped by cataclysmic floods and relentless winds, the Columbia Gorge appellation is more than a visual treasure. It is a collection of microclimates with rich soils, capable of producing a mind-numbing array of grape varieties — all resulting in well balanced wines, blessed with bright acidity.

The McCormick Family

A Father and Son, supported by other family, all on a quest to uncover the true potential of this young AVA. We farm our five vineyards (McCormick Family Vineyards) and work together through harvest and the winemaking miracle.

The Love of Food

Food and wine are at the center of our family life. Because of our backgrounds, we view wine as an integral part of the food experience — we will only produce wines that compliment food…lighter alcohol and oak influence, and always dry. This means that our wine is quite different from the typical Washington State wine.
